Creative Director
Femi Coker is a self-taught mixed-media artist, passionate cultural enthusiast, and the founder of Femi Art Warehouse. With over 25 years of experience, he has dedicated his life to promoting Nigerian heritage through art, innovation, and cultural advocacy. Femi has made significant contributions to the art and cultural landscape of Nigeria.
Notably, Femi was commissioned by the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) to create a commemorative photo collage for the UN’s 70th anniversary in 2015. He has collaborated with various prestigious institutions, including the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, National Museum Onikan, Lagos, University of Lagos, Unity Museum, Ibadan and the Lagos State Government, among others. He also worked in collaboration with the Badagry Heritage Museum and was commissioned by the Ogun State Ministry of Culture and Tourism to produce a series of drums for the inaugural Nigerian Drums Festival in 2016 and the African Drums Festival in 2017.
Femi has actively participated in numerous cultural festivals and events, including the Lagos Black Heritage Festival (2013), World Sango Festival at the Alaafin of Oyo’s Palace (2014), and the International Art Expo Lagos (2008–2012). In 2013, his drum became the official symbol of the Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding (CBCIU) in Osogbo.
Educational & Professional Journey
Femi studied Philosophy at Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University). His career began as a Research and Marketing Executive with the acclaimed cultural and tourism television program Goge Africa, where his love for cultural promotion deepened.
He later worked as a curator and manager at the renowned Nike Art Gallery in Lagos, before becoming the Gallery Manager of Orisun Art Gallery, Abuja’s most prestigious art gallery. These experiences honed his skills as a cultural curator, artist, and visionary leader.
